About Max T.

I have spent most of my career learning how people learn and remember. I translate what I find into practical learning. As a journalist, I use interviews and feature writing to teach language and culture. As an educational media specialist, I develop materials and techniques that target learning needs. As a specialist in human learning and memory, I design instruction according to principles of good research and my own experience with thousands of students.

The field of teaching and the field of learning don’t overlap as much as most of us would assume. It’s easy to think that education is supposed to happen a certain way if that’s what you’re used to. The hard work is in peeling off the layers of habits and assumptions until you finally realize there’s a suspicious number of layers that don’t need to be there. They don’t have anything to do with learning, and they’re hiding jewels!

Really, anybody can peel the layers off. You just have to be willing to look long enough to see where to peel.
